COVID-19 vaccine clinic taking place Saturday at George Wythe HS

November 19, 2021 | The Richmond City Health District is holding a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Saturday for anyone age 5 and up. It’s happening from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at George Wythe High School. Appointments for the event are not required. You can make an appointment if you wish, using the Virginia Department of Health’s website or calling (804) 205-3501.

November 18, 2021 | Richmond – Henrico Health District officials say our second pandemic Thanksgiving will be different because of the COVID-19 vaccine. But the push continues to get more shots in the arms of children. The 5 to 11-year-old vaccination rate more than doubled for both Richmond and Henrico. Last week, both were well under the state rate of 6.5%. This week, the rate for the city is 12.2%, and it’s 14.6% for the county. The state’s rate this week is 15%.

Top Biden health officials join Northam to promote COVID vaccines for kids

November 18, 2021 | Two of President Joe Biden’s top health officials joined Governor Ralph Northam on Thursday to see how COVID-19 vaccinations are going for 5 to 11 year-olds. Gov. Northam, alongside U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra and U.S. Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine, visited a pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. There, they saw Johnny Richter get his first shot on his fifth birthday. He was excited to get the vaccine “to save the world” and to go to Chuck E. Cheese again.

Free food to be handed out at COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Richmond

November 17, 2021| A walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic for all Richmond and Henrico residents ages 5 and up is happening on Wednesday. The clinic will be from 4-6 p.m. at Cardinal Elementary School. First and second doses of the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available. And as an added bonus, there will be free Jason’s Deli boxed meals for anyone who gets a shot!

November 17, 2021 | There was a bigger turnout than expected at Cardinal Elementary School in Richmond for a COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Hope Pharmacy offered vaccinations to children ages 5 to 11 years old. Hope Pharmacy is working with Virginia’s Department of Health’s pharmacy program to help offer onsite COVID-19 vaccines at local schools and senior homes. The purpose is to help make ensure vaccination equity.
