NFL ALUMNI ENCOURAGE COVID-19 VACCINATION IN RICHMOND

RICHMOND, VA (December 6, 2021) – A campaign from NFL Alumni Health, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aims to build COVID-19 vaccination confidence in metro areas around the country – including in Richmond, Virginia. NFL Alumni Richmond Chapter President and former Washington Football Team linebacker Dion Foxx and two-time world champion Washington Football Team wide receiver Gary Clark are among the more than 50 players lending their voices to the education and awareness campaign. The effort encourages people to get informed, discuss their vaccine questions with their health care providers, and make the decision to get vaccinated. The initiative includes public service announcements, a campaign website, social media posts, and local events that collaborate with health care providers and public health organizations.

December 2, 2021 | The Richmond and Henrico Health Districts are partnering with the University of Richmond Athletics to offer free basketball tickets to kids who get their COVID-19 vaccine. Starting this week, ticket vouchers for one free children’s ticket to a Spider basketball home game will be distributed at RHHD vaccine clinics to kids ages 5-11 who are getting their shots.

COVID-19 booster shot appointments, walk-ins available in Richmond, Henrico

“November 22, 2021 | COVID-19 booster shot appointments and walk-ins are now available in Richmond and Henrico.
All adults 18 and older are now eligible to get a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine following Friday’s announcement from the FDA and CDC. People who got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine can get a booster six months after their second dose, while those who got the Johnson & Johnson qualify two months after their first dose.”

Free COVID-19 and flu vaccination event planned for Ashland

November 19, 2021 |The Chickahominy Health District will be hosting a free community COVID-19 vaccine and booster clinic in Ashland on Monday, Nov. 22. A release from the health district states that event will take place from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the former Food Lion in the Ashland Junction Shopping Center at 135 Junction Drive.
