Dr. Erin Wooten, a pediatrician at Children’s Health Services in Greenville, has already made the arrangements for her sons, ages 8 and 11, to be vaccinated. “That goes a long way if you know that your own people that you trust or your own pediatrician is getting their own children vaccinated. October 27, 2021 | Data is showing COVID-19 vaccine lotteries don’t work, but a pilot in North Carolina is showing some promise is in guaranteed, small-dollar cash vaccine incentives, researchers wrote in JAMA Internal Medicine. Leaders at the North Carolina health department offered up $25 cash rewards for people who got their shots at a participating clinic in one of four counties, and another $25 to the folks who drove them there. In all, these vaccine incentives improved patient access to care by more than 40 percent in participating sites, the researchers found.
